I write a short song, about a long song
 A vow to you, a note to everyone
 A stroke of blue, uncommonly cool
 Painting a coat, not meant to last long
 For us both, we can do anything we want

 It does seem hopeless, I'm losing focus
 As we wait for sea change
 Wait for the next wave
 The storm that's coming
 The storm is coming home
 Let me know when you give up, all hope and light
 Let me know when you're wasted, I'm feeling alright
 When you're feeling anxious, we'll start the climb
 When our will is broken, we'll build a new life
 When your fight is finished
 I know I'm more secure state of mind
