Slow down
 Can you wait for me?"
 Is all I've ever asked of you
 "Give me some more time to be
 Sure I'm still in love with you"
 But that's the problem:
 If I need to check before I throw myself into you
 So now, after all, here I go and then
 Trying your patience again
 Saying, "can we wait?"
 The clock on the wall still reminds me I'm trying your patience again
 But it's too late for that
 Shadows of doubt in my mind
 You cast them with your violent words
 Feelings I just can't erase
 Moments tainted by the curse
 And that's the issue:
 If I can't commit, then where does that leave us?
 So now, after all, here I go and then
 Trying your patience again
 Saying, "can we wait?"
