Dancing

Who could believe I feel
 All of the things I'm feeling.
 This emotional glow
 I've imagined though
 I couldn't place the time or face.
 Now yours is the face I see.
 Shining in expectation
 Of more parties, more lights
 And a thousand more nights of dancing!
 I can hardly believe we were dancing on the hill.
 Happy to be dancing together until
 Our hearts stood still.
 I'm not afraid of time
 Now that I have these memories.
 And I'll always recall
 That the best thing of all was dancing
 With my hair in the breeze
 I was free of every care.
 Happy to be lifted and held in midair
 And laughing there.
 Who could not feel the joy
 Waltzing in every moment.
 Every color and sound
 On this merry-go-round.
 I never knew I'd felt so few
 'Til I let myself chance
 This evening of dancing with you.
