Eulogy for the Lost

In this desolate cold world, I am forsaken
 I stand alone in the depths of despair
 A hidden portrait
 A ceaseless wonder of time
 Forbidden realm of dreams
 Will I ever become one with such place?
 Starlit skies smile upon me
 Seeping matter pulsates
 Beneath dark soil I awaken
 A sacred rite
 From which I rise

 As the suns rays die
 And my wings no longer fly
 Desperate I flail in the nothingness
 Held down, anxious, with no breath
 Consciousness fades away
 All light disappearing as day shall never break
 The opportunity has come and gone

 Feelings of bliss see no dawn
 Forthcoming displeasures so great
 Here, I meet my fate
 Beneath dark soil I awaken
 A sacred rite
 From which I rise
 The turning season
 To return
 The dark is waiting
 I perish
 I shall perish
