What We Do

A man of solid oak and his fine new bride
 Found themselves a farm by the river side.
 Everything has changed yeah it's all come undone
 All they have now are their hand and the light from the sun.
 The wind it came for days and days
 And the earth did try to shake away our kind.
 But they held on tight and a few survived
 And they light their fires on the cold, cold, cold, cold night.

 We could live this way for a long long long long time

 Then a man that came from oil and with no knowledge
 Of how to grow the things that we need to live
 Crept up the river bank from the other side
 Stole everything they've grown by the dim moonlight.
 When morning came the bride she wept
 The man faced the empty farm and spit on theft.
 He said boy you better run cause the earth decides
 And people made of greed no they don't survive.
