 She closed her eyes and i kissed her,
 Her lips were taking me through the night
 I whispered soft i would miss her,
 With the hard work dragging me down the line
 Ooh and then she pulled me closer, in the dark it took me by surprise
 When she told me that the road was open, i could find her there any time
 Then i opened my eyes and she disappeared
 And don't you think that's strange?
 If one minute she's flesh and blood beside, and the next it's a dream
 We don't lay claim to property and don't talk much of pain or doubt
 So when she told me love was in her heart,
 I'd know just what she's talking about
 Ooh and the restless get their share, and the lonely always find their way
 And she has a reckless innocence, she knows what's best but not today
 Then i opened my eyes and she disappeared
 And don't you think that's strange?

 Is it just a midnight dream? i would fain prove otherwise
 Is it just a midnight stream that runs so cold beneath these pitch black skies?
 She said to set the sails for shore this journey's got to come to a close
 And we've been standing there for some time now,
