Today we'll turn the park
 Into a journey on a swing
 And the carousel we're ridin'
 Like puppets on a string
 With all the people dressed up
 Almost like it's halloween
 Today we'll fly the meadow
 On silvermounted beasts
 And up and down we're glidin'
 As gulls' wings over seas
 With all its movement out of bounds
 Desire to be free
 Today we'll guide the horses
 From the orchard to the ark
 And the appletrees surrounding
 Have lived there from the start

 Spinnin' the world around
 Today fairies and friends are havin' a real good time
 By now the carousel's a-changin' to overdrive
 Today we build our fences
 And our castles on the beach
 And the tune we keep on playin'
 Is all some wicked scheme
 Made up by hurdy-gurdy men
 And crooked balladeers
 So why not turn the parc
 Into a mental jamboree
 With generals and gunners
