Tied Down

Sometimes you rest your head and let the day flow.
 Someone's been harsh or cold,
 Someone run out that door.
 You still keep wondering, as the day flows,
 If you are right or wrong,
 Although you'll never know.
 I won't look up to see
 The horizon tied down like my dreams.
 There is a way to free them
 And a way to free myself.
 Well, I've asked myself sometimes
 If there's anything new to say.
 I know that I can fight,
 And I know sometimes I'm prey.
 What you know is what they taught you.
 You think they taught you good,
 But in truth you couldn't choose.
 When you get that urge for a new world,
 You think it may be good,
 You're just scared of what you can lose.
