Why

Why do we live this life of frustration?
 Why can't this world unite as one nation?
 We could do it too, if we wanted to – and live as brothers
 All we'd have to do is to love.
 Why do we have to fight one another?
 Why do we have to destroy each other?
 We don't have to do what we don't want to do – lets stop the killing
 Let peace be victor over pain.
 Why don't you see the light of salvation?
 Why don't you see the joy and elation?
 You could see it too if you wanted to – it's the light of Jesus
 For when I found Him, I found the way...
 You could find it too if you wanted to
 They ask me, "why do you write such sad songs", and I answer "it's the only way I have of showing the pain, the hate, the suffering and the sorrow of this world, and how easy it would be to change it if we would only dare to try
