Not Be Afraid

I saw a man and he scorned his wife in fear she was untrue
 And her hands they shook and her
 tears they fell for something she didn't do
 But he protects his pride by his meaner
 side towards the things he doesn't know
 He kills the seeds of the thing he fears before they ever grow
 Before they ever grow
 It's what keeps our tongue tied up
 from saying what we really know is true
 And it paralyses our will to do the things we ought to do
 I've seen it your eyes before and I've seen as of late
 We've both seen the damage love can cause and it makes us hesitate
 It makes us hesitate
 So let's put our fears away
 Let's not be afraid
 To say what we've been meaning to say
 Let's no longer, no longer be afraid
 To fall in love
 Love
 A president said it was the only thing we really had to fear
 And though he's talking about a time of war I know just how he feels
 Cause it makes us grow a thicker skin with each and every day
 Whether it be a time of love or a
 time or war the story's still the same
 Protect ourselves from pain
