A Haunting Display

So here we go again
 Sinking down to the depths
 In this erratic state of limbo
 Where we tear at the itch
 Until it drains all semblance of life
 And I know the rains above will fall and wash me away
 Take me away from this place
 And I know the waves will suffocate me
 Dissolving all of the flesh and bone
 A reminder of who I was, set in stone
 A haunting display of the reality we face
 Living only as a casualty
 Become the martyr
 Give it all away
 Dissect the life I was given
 If it means that I won't suffer anymore
 You cannot run from the truth
 For it is buried into you
 The vultures will feast on the bodies of the weak
 A haunting display of a world that we cannot change
 Gnaw away at the surface
 Drive it to my core
 But as unforgiving as life can be
 I will not cave to the opposition
 I'll make sure I deal the final blow
 Throughout seasons change
 The shell will deteriorate
 And it's cold, but I need to feel it
 Constantly rewriting the scripture
 But one things for certain
 The waves will always come and go
