When I Tried

Same as I was then
 I'm biting my hands again
 And trying to waste my own time
 When it's wasted it feels like its mine
 Tried to do some work today
 Tried to go all the way
 And got there meaning to talk
 But then I had nothing to say
 I was more alive when I tried
 But you can't try all the time
 Took a day trip out of town
 I used to think you brought me down
 But the company is giving me life
 Saturday I got this alright
 But Sunday the sun, it sets in
 What does it have to do with this skin?
 It's not a cut or a scrape you can kiss
 Why am I still like this?
 I was more alive when I tried
 But you can't try all the time
