Musical Emotions

My feelings are complicated so I tend to hit the play button
 The musical notes make me float and I say nothing
 Just stay hunting for a particular song
 I'll know it when I hear it and I'll probably drift along
 Intoxicated by the melody, drawn to the message
 If I relate, then it's fate, I find it impressive
 That I always find a song explaining what I feel
 Starts at the heart, rushing to the brain to make chills
 I close my eyes to envision stories given
 But realize that it clearly mentions what I'm living
 I'm awestruck, I'm amazed and lost for words
 Now caught up in the moment, the rest is just a blur
 A different song is a different path
 If I click another tune, I could be reliving my past
 Music is a holy grail that captivates with fascination
 It can turn happiness into aggravation
 Through agitation or vice versa with many uses
 It can bring up many issues and inform the clueless
 Or spread ignorance to wise men and make them foolish
 You can lose your train of thought by embracing the ruthless
 When I was little I would put my headphones on and blast it
 Only cds because at times the radio had static
 I would vibe out to it in hopes that it don't skip
 Music emotions are much stronger than a dope trip
 Musical emotions flowing through my soul like oceans
 The words are growing on me so I keep my mind open
 When life is like a battle, the music is my safe-hold
 Every morning, every night the melody creates goals
 Inspiration through penetration of the brain
 The music can uplift when I feel completely drained
 All these musical emotions, ah, musical emotions
 Shattered dreams of all these picture perfect families
 Shedding tears in bed, revisiting the insanity
 Asking God, what in this awful world have you handed me
 Hearing my parents scream
 Holding my breath until I can not breathe
 As fear grips my throat, I'm trying not to choke
 I'm crying, I'm crying until all of my pillow is soaked
 It's hot running down my nose, but cold on my cheek
 I can not move, I can not speak, my body is too weak
 Until I finally get the strength to pick up my shield
 I put the album on and it creates a forcefield
 Now I can escape all the tragedies of reality
 In a world of music where I am truly glad to be
 No more screaming, no more pain
 No more violent images are sneaking on my brain
 These musical emotions really take you away
 So be careful what you listen to when hitting the play, aye
