Decades

Our panic was all forgotten
 Had heart attack revolutions
 four walls were my friend smiling in secret
 had a smile on my face trying to keep it
 All four of them lightly dancing
 with me when I wasn't looking
 missed nothing we had in the good old days
 knew what we were then moving through decades.
 Sitting up wide awake settled down
 felt the warmth of the blaze that was lit on the table
 let the quiet become our companion
 on the night when we heard all the thoughts of the noble
 I saw you were leaning over
 you were holding your hands together
 head up in the clouds knees on the ground
 held in between frames, used to the background
 Let the one in the still do the talking
 all the words on the back having kept us in motion
 several lines in a plea told us everything
 on the night when we spoke in a mute conversation.
