Niagara

Just me and my little boat
 Doing well just to stay afloat
 The current has a tendency to pull us along
 Inching nearer to the danger zone
 I took a life jacket and a safety flare
 A torch and some biscuits and an oar for spare
 Let no-one say I wasn't safety aware
 Let no-one say I did not go prepared
 Faced with the spectacular Niagara Falls
 I'm rowing back hard, against the flow
 I wanted to go out and enjoy the view
 But the river is seductive and it draws you
 I did the risk assessment and I went ahead
 I didn't think that I could wind up dead

 But the current is strong when you get out there
 But when you let your boat drift far enough downstream
 You start to see things are not what they seemed
