Jester Fool

I get this message on my message machine that she's cooking dinner tonight
 So I go out and pick up a bottle of wine... I'm kind of nervous, I've run out things to say when I get there
 So I say "I like your wooden floor boards"
 She is laying in flannel sheets
 Brass bed speaks "come on lie in me"
 And there I'm standing naked and meek... stalling
 She then says lovingly:
 If I were the queen and you were just the jester fool
 I would love you as my king, just because I do I do I do love you
 Six a.m. the alarm clock goes off and I realize that I am not where I usually am at 6 o'clock in the morning
 I kiss her goodbye and grab um. my clothes and run out in the street half dressed and I'm probably gonna be late for work.

 Old lady on the corner just stares at me
 I guess she ain't never seen barefoot feet
 Or heard the words that she sung to me:
