Now I'd like to do a song for you now
 That I wrote about a lot of people in my hometown
 And I know that in everybody's hometown
 We got some of these kind of people that I'm gonna sing about
 And if you don't believe it, you could go by the courthouse and watch him sittin' down there
 Whittling and a-spittin' back and telling big tales
