i left home when i was real young
 went up to new york city
 left a girl i loved in the rear view
 went off to chase my dreams
 i thought iâd be some rock star
 have 50 people working for me
 just wanted to play on my guitar
 just like my family before me

 never thought iâd amount to much
 or be the talk of the town
