Ripples

Glowing ripples dance low across the night
 Down murky misty rivers
 Exploding energetic quivers
 Rush up your spine at the speed of light
 Walking under the shine of a mellow moon
 Where empty angels sail
 To the dead who wait beyond the veil
 And are never seen in the light of noon
 In fuzzy solitude I wait
 For a point of clarity
 Not clouded by absurdity
 Name it fast
 It doesn't last
 But slips like fog under a rusty gate
 Dream on through a life of dreams
 Dream a thousand likely schemes
 But mind the moody atmosphere
 Where dreams and gods disappear
 Shimmering siren song in from outer space
 Vibrates high across the mind
 Over circuits not in time
 That make me think of some ancient birthplace
 With the gravel of words I build a world
 That washes away like sandstone
 And is carried to a distant shore
 With other worlds, flesh and bone
 Old man dying on a beach
 A good place to go
 It's only here you know
 That's where it all began
 With eyes fixed
 On the ship so far out of reach
 Dream on through a life of dreams
