Pursuit of Liberty

Can this be America, the home of the free
 When for the first time, I feel like a refugee?
 Where we sought asylum, we were welcomed in
 These days, it's perceived as a sin
 Do you remember the fall of Saigon?
 The city turned red by the Vietcong?
 The choices they had were to flee or believe
 That's when my family had no choice but to leave
 This is the way of the Vietnamese
 Where we became the new refugees
